The sports world came to a screeching halt Sunday when TMZ reported that basketball superstar Kobe Bryant, 41, had died in a helicopter crash in Southern California.

Men’s hoops win streak reaches nine

The Shippensburg University men’s basketball team kept its hot streak rolling this week, picking up its eighth and ninth consecutive wins over Kutztown and Lock Haven Universities. The Raiders moved to 16-3 (12-1 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference) on the season and remain in first place in the PSAC Eastern Division.

Women’s basketball picks up big wins over Bloomsburg, Seton Hill

The Shippensburg University women’s basketball team picked up a critical 89-82 win on the road against Seton Hill University on Sunday afternoon. The win moved the team into a three-way tie for first place in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division.

Wrestling downs Elizabethtown to open regular season schedule

The Shippensburg University wrestling team opened its 2019-20 season with a 25-13 dual meet win against Elizabethtown College. Things did not start off well for the Raiders, as they had to forfeit the first match in the 125-pound weight class. This caused an early six-point deficit for the Raiders
