Baseball starts hot, wins season opener

 Shippensburg baseball defeated Carson-Newman on Friday to win its first game of the season, picking up a 10-5 victory. A three-game series was scheduled between the teams, but only one could be played before rain cancelled the other two.

One win, one loss for women’s basketball

 The Shippensburg University women’s basketball team posted one win and one loss this week. The Raiders played their first game of the week away at Millersville on Wednesday evening and fell short of the Marauders, 57-53. The second game of the week was a home game in Heiges Field House Saturday afternoon where the Raiders beat Kutztown, 66-57.

Two-Win Week for Men’s Basketball

 Shippensburg University’s men’s basketball team put up its first two wins of 2024 this past week in Heiges Field House after losing nine consecutive games.

Women’s basketball loses pair of home games

Shippensburg University’s women’s basketball team dropped a pair of conference matchups this past week, losing to West Chester 82-55 on Wednesday before falling to PSAC leader Lock Haven 59-48 on Saturday. The results moved Shippensburg to 3-16 overall, including 2-11 in PSAC play.

Dylan Curtis steps into new role as tennis head coach

It is not uncommon for college athletes to return to their alma mater in a coaching role.  What is rare is the athlete coaching a different sport than the one they played.  That is exactly what Dylan Curtis is doing, having been hired as the new head coach of Shippensburg University’s women’s tennis team.

Women’s basketball drops first two conference games

  Shippensburg University’s women’s basketball team dropped a pair of home games this weekend, falling to Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP) 65-50 on Friday before a 70-59 loss to Seton Hill University on Saturday. The results moved the Raiders’ record to 1-6 on the year, along with 0-2 in PSAC play.

Swim competes at Gettysburg Invitational

 Shippensburg University’s swim teams competed at the Gettysburg Invitational hosted by Gettysburg College on Friday and Saturday. Freshman Jazz Barry impressed with several SU all-time Top 10 performances for the women’s team.

Men’s basketball starts 1-1 in PSAC

 Shippensburg University men’s basketball team split a pair of home games this past weekend, falling to Indiana (PA) 96-84 Friday evening before rebounding with a 71-64 victory against Seton Hill. The results moved the Raiders to 4-2 on the season, including 1-1 in PSAC play.

Another Tough Week for Women’s Basketball

  It was a tough stretch last week as Shippensburg University women’s basketball lost two games by decisive scores — first to Jefferson College 84-49 and then to Holy Family 65-49.

Volleyball’s season comes to an end with PSAC semifinals loss

 Shippensburg University volleyball ended its 2023 season on a down note this past weekend, beating Lock Haven 3-0 in the PSAC quarterfinals, before a hard-fought 3-1 loss to Clarion in the conference semifinals. The Raiders finished the season 23-9, their best record since 2019.

Field Hockey falls to Kutztown in national semifinals

 Shippensburg University’s field hockey team’s 2023 season came to an end Friday evening with a 2-1 loss to Kutztown in the NCAA Division II Semifinals in Manchester, New Hampshire. The Raiders controlled the match throughout, but a late penalty stroke goal for Kutztown proved to be the difference.

Women’s basketball looking to make adjustments for the upcoming weeks

 Shippensburg University women’s basketball fell short in their first two games of the season this weekend as they hosted the 2023 Conference Challenge at Heiges Field House. The Raiders played their first game of the season Friday afternoon against Fayetteville State and lost 68-62 in a close game. The Raiders played their second game Saturday night against Bowie State, where Shippensburg lost 61-52.
