Career day for Courtney Kennedy: SU earns victory

After dropping five of its last six games the Shippensburg University lacrosse team was hungry for a motivational win. Luckily for the Raiders, the team coming into David See Field on Saturday afternoon was also having a mediocre season. Courtney Kennedy paced the team with a career-high, five-goal performance as the Raiders overtook Slippery Rock University 16–10, notching their first PSAC victory since a 7–6 victory over Kutztown University last week.

Golden Rams too much for SU

Well so much for breaking streaks. The Shippensburg University tennis team failed at its attempt to win two matches in a row for the first time since the 2008–2009 season with a 9–0 drubbing at the hands of West Chester University Tuesday afternoon at the Robb Sports Complex tennis courts.

Michael Douglas tried to set the tone with a lead-off home run over the left field fence for the Raiders, but errors doomed the Shippensburg University baseball team early in an 11–3 loss to Indiana University of Pa.

Milestone day for Lindsey Kennedy: SU loses to IUP

The Shippensburg University women’s lacrosse team had one of its seniors reach two career milestones Tuesday afternoon at IUP but could not overcome the conference front-running Crimson Hawks, dropping an 18-9 decision at Miller Stadium. Senior Lindsey Kennedy netted her fourth hat trick of the year and had a season-high four assists.

National Champs!

The Shippensburg University men’s distance medley relay squad (DMR) of sophomore Tom Kehl, sophomore Andrew Kujawski, senior Joel Flott and senior Matt Gillette won the 2013 NCAA Division II national championship Friday night with a meet record-setting time of 9:45.24. SU achieved its second NCAA indoor DMR national championship in three years and its third consecutive Top 3 finish in the event, eclipsing school, conference and facility records in the process.
