Women's Soccer: Golden Eagles clip Raiders

On a rainy, overcast and cold Saturday afternoon the Shippensburg University women’s soccer team (4–2) managed to outshoot Clarion University (3–1–2) 14–6, but could not manage any goals against the Golden Eagles in a 1–0 loss.

Men's soccer blasts Point Park

A soaked David See Field was the site of the afternoon’s soccer game between Shippensburg University and Point Park University. The Raiders pulled out an impressive 2–0 victory behind excellent goaltending by Clay Sale.

Women's soccer: Rightmyer’s second game-winner pushes Raiders past Crimson Hawks

Despite managing just two shots against PSAC foe Indiana University of Pa. (4–2), the Shippensburg University women’s soccer team (4–1) held off the Crimson Hawks 1–0 in Tuesday afternoon’s defensive contest. SU received its first scare just four minutes into the game, as IUP senior forward Tonya Fabian pressed the Raider net but, fortunately for the Raiders, her shot was wide. Fabian led IUP with four shots, though none of them found their way to the back of the net. The first of two Raider shots came at nine minutes, 17 seconds.

Football: Raider football struggles continue

The Shippensburg University football team struggled on a chilly September night in its first PSAC game of the season, falling 58–38 to Slippery Rock University. The Raiders’ difficulties began from the first SRU possession.

One down, a season to go

The Shippensburg University women’s soccer team came away with its first victory of the 2013 season Thursday afternoon defeating Holy Family University 3–0. Both teams started slowly until SU’s Kate Zech had a prime opportunity to record the Raiders’ first goal 17 minutes into the game.
