Power in Pink runway show raises awareness and funds for breast cancer

In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Shippensburg University’s D.I.V.A.S. and Elite Modeling Troupe turned Henderson Gymnasium into a celebration of fashion, empowerment and community for their Power in Pink Charity Runway.  The event raised funds and awareness for the African American Breast Cancer Association.

APB brings scare and flair in Halloween Dance

Shippensburg University’s Activities Programming Board (APB) hosted a Halloween dance in the CUB Amphitheater on the night of Oct. 11.  The dance featured live music, fall-themed snacks and drinks, and a Ship Eatz food truck serving Raider Bowls outside the event for attendees to enjoy.

Remembering Miss. Di: Latino Explosion honors Diane Jefferson

On Oct. 4, Shippensburg University’s Latino Student Organization (LSO) hosted its first Latino Explosion of the semester, featuring a memorial for Diane Jefferson, the late founder and director of the Office of Multicultural Student Affairs (MSA), who passed away last summer.

D.I.V.A.S. bring the talent in Hour of Power

Shippensburg University campus group D.I.V.A.S. hosted an open mic show called “Hour of Power” in McFeely’s on Oct. 2. The group aimed to showcase different mediums of art, including music, poetry and comedy.

APB hosts glow-in-the-dark bingo to celebrate Family Day

SU students brought their friends and families to play bingo in celebration of Family Day on Sept. 26 at p.m. The CUB MPR was filled with neon lights, glow-in-the-dark accessories and the squeaks of dry erase markers as students and families attended the Activities Programming Board’s (APB) annual Family Weekend Bingo.

Students are taken ‘All Around the World’ during SUnity Week

As a part of SUnity Week, “All Around the World” was an event for students to learn more about diverse cultures through music, food and more. The event allowed students to learn about the diverse community Shippensburg celebrates, as well as groups students can join to expand their connections and learn new languages.
