PASSHE Chancellor gives annual update on system

“We are at a turning point. This year, with our partners, the general assembly, we will decide the course of public higher education in this commonwealth,” Pennsylvania State System of Education (PASSHE) Chancellor Daniel Greenstein said during his State of the System address on Jan. 15. “This year we will decide whether all Pennsylvanians — regardless of race, zip code or wealth — will have an affordable pathway into and beyond the middle class.”


On Oct. 24 2019, three men stationed themselves outside the Ezra Lehman Memorial Library at Shippensburg University shouting their beliefs at students. Their actions leave SU with a question: How should students contend with those with whom they disagree?

Loud and clear: What students can learn from campus demonstrations

 Three religious demonstrators seeking to save the students of Shippensburg University assembled in the academic quad and preached what they considered the Word of God. And while many in the community believe the men did not further civil discourse at SU, some believe their presence can be used as a jumping point to discuss how society can approach handling personal differences.

'Molly Pitcher': Fact over fiction

New coordinator hopes to create safe space for vets

Shippensburg University has tapped Charles Payne, a veteran who has served in the military for 29 years, to coordinate a program overseeing veteran and nontraditional student affairs in the Veterans’ Resource Center.
