Students and staff came together to test their knowledge about menstruation with Shippensburg University’s Pride and Gender Equity (PAGE) Center Wednesday night.

The PAGE Center held a Menstrual Trivia night in McFeely’s Cafe for attendees to compete and educate themselves on the topic of menstruation in honor of Women’s History Month. The event was sponsored by SU’s Women’s and Gender Studies Program.

The event began with PAGE Center representatives introducing themselves, including Sahara McGrath, coordinator of the PAGE Center. The trivia categories were divided into four rounds: anatomy, period products, menstrual equity and a random category. Students were handed raffle tickets to enter upon entry of the event, with winners announced between each round.

Prizes included a menstrual cup, a menstrual herbal tea and a menstruation crustacean (a lobster stuffed animal that doubled as a heating pad). The answers to the trivia questions surprised most of the teams in attendance and educated students on the facts surrounding menstruation.
