Last week, Shippensburg University students have experienced beautiful, breezy fall days followed by a cold and rainy weekend. Though fall weather can be unpredictable, SU students shared the conditions of their ideal fall weather.

“Gilmore Girls weather–cold enough to wear a sweater, but we can’t see our breath in the air yet.” - Caroline Cooper

“Mid 50s and sunny!” - Luke Rainey

“70s and sunny!” - Mara Eberle

“Mid 50s to low 60s. There are leaves on the ground, and I can comfortably wear a sweatpants and sweatshirt combo.”- Abby Hockenberry

“I’m a big fan of 60 degrees and cloudy. Not overcast, but enough so I’m not blinded without sunglasses. I want to be able to see the sun, but not die of heatstroke. Fall is all about those colorful leaves, so it needs to be dry. Dry leaves are crunchy and ‘leaf-pile-able’. Wet leaves turn to sludge.” – Ian Thompson

“Low to mid 50s, cloudy and dry. Add a slight breeze, and it’s perfect!” - Lydia Rose

“70s with a nice breeze and some sun!” - Ben Beck

“I love a good 57 and cloudy!” - Elizabeth Peters

“My favorite fall weather is a day where the air is cool, and the sun is warm. The perfect temperature where it’s not freezing but also not sweltering. A partially overcast day where the sun peeks out occasionally.” – Jayden Pohlman

“72 degrees with a solid, cool breeze going and light cloud coverage is a perfect day.” – Thomas Firestine

“Warm, sunny weather, complemented by the crunchy leaves and orange hues.” - Elisa Reitman

“Warm and dry, preferably with minimal wind.” - Natalie Nichols
