What you’ll need

Big spoon

Carving knife

Sharpie

Newspaper

Candle (battery operated)

Halloween spirit

Working on top of newspaper for easy clean up you will first cut a hole in the top of the pumpkin where the stem is (set aside). Next use the spoon to scoop out the guts of the gourd. Then, use your sharpie to draw the design you would like to showcase on your pumpkin. Using your carving knife, carve along the lines of your design.

Place the candle inside the pumpkin using the hole on the top. Put the top of the pumpkin back over the hole. Lastly, set your pumpkin in the window of your dorm or outside of your apartment in the cover of night for the ultimate spooky effect.
