For the second game in a row the Shippensburg University lacrosse team blew an early lead. This time it blew a 4–2 advantage en route to a 16¬–7 defeat at the hands of Seton Hill University Saturday afternoon at David See Field.

Dave Springer is a Raider no more After a 7–20 regular season and a first round exit in the PSAC playoffs, SU men’s basketball coach Dave Springer’s contract was not renewed by Shippensburg University, putting an end to his 12-year career at SU.

Raiders complete sweep of Concord

Hitting was infectious on Sunday afternoon as the Shippensburg University baseball team combined for 18 hits in an 11–7 victory in the final game of a three–game sweep of Concord University at Fairchild Field. Pat Kregeloh, Jimmy Spanos and Tyler Shover led the team with two RBIs apiece as the Raiders used a four-run fourth inning and a five-run fifth inning to break away from the Mountain Lions.

Raiders split doubleheader on Saturday

The Shippensburg University softball team took on Pace University Saturday in Murfreesboro, N.C. The Raiders picked up a 9–0 victory in the first game and dropped a tough second game 1–0.

Sweeping over Concord

Jimmy Spanos drove in two while Pat Kregeloh picked up his third win as the Shippensburg University baseball team utilized some small-ball to defeat Concord University 10-6 in Game 1 of its doubleheader on Saturday at Fairchild Field.

Men's team shanghaied by Marauders

A first half full of lead changes did not end well for the Shippensburg University men’s basketball team, who took on a tough Millersville University team Wednesday night inside MU’s Pucillo Gymnasium and ultimately fell to the Marauders 86–69 despite a 19-point performance from Reggie Charles. The game started well for the Raiders as Charles notched two of his 19 points off a layup from a Tyhiem Perrin rebound.

As Stephanie Knauer and the Shippensburg University Raiders women’s basketball squad filed out of the locker room at Pucillo Gymnasium, there was an extra hop in their step — a sudden realization that this team finally made the statement it needed heading into the PSAC playoffs.

As the men completed their three-peat of PSAC Championships, the Shippensburg University women’s indoor track and field team completed its own marker — a four-peat and its sixth overall PSAC title.

Good things come in threes

Three-peat. Good things come in threes. Those two phrases never rang any clearer as the Shippensburg University men’s indoor track team ousted its PSAC competition in dramatic form, finishing the meet with 197.5 points — 78 above second-place finisher East Stroudsburg University.

Cameron "Throcks" the competition

Entering the weekend the Shippensburg University wrestling team sent 10 wrestlers to the NCAA Super Region I Championships and after the weekend action, the Raiders had four wrestlers place, including Cameron Throckmorton — winner of the 133-pound division. After finishing ninth in the Super Region I Championships the last two seasons, SU sat in seventh place in the championships entering Friday’s matches, and it looked to climb the rankings as the weekend progressed. The Raiders improved their rankings throughout the weekend ultimately finishing in sixth place in the Super Region I’s. Throckmorton was the only SU wrestler to finish the day undefeated.

Raiders sail by Wolves

Shawna and Dana Wert proved to be unstoppable while freshman sensation Stephanie Knauer tallied 15 points as the Raiders surpassed the Cheyney University Wolves 80–62 on Saturday afternoon at Heiges Field House.

Despite loss, SU heading to playoffs

On Saturday afternoon the Shippensburg University men’s basketball team made the best out of a bad situation. Dylan Edgar scored 24 points for the second time this season but could not lead the Raiders past a hungrier Cheyney University squad, dropping the game 79–68. Coming off a tough loss against West Chester University, the Raiders looked to turn things around against a well-rounded CU team. For a while, it seemed that SU would right the ship.
