Facing 2,000-year-old men of clay in an unfamiliar city, students immersed themselves in the ancient culture of China. The Terracotta Army of Chinese Emperor Qin Shi Huang was just one of the sites that Shippensburg University students visited during their 20-day field study of China this summer.
Construction at Shippensburg University is still underway to convert the campuses heating and air conditioning system to a newer, more fuel-efficient energy system. According to the recent Ship News and Events email, the constuction involving the new heating systems is expected to be completed in September.
Instead of spending more money in graduate school, students in the department of education can now pursue a dual certification in teaching pre-K to fourth grade and special education pre-K to eighth grade. By completing 135 credits in nine semesters, Shippensburg University students can learn how to teach a variety of students in different grades and with different needs.
In a conference room filled with student representatives from each class, the Student Senate and various organizations on campus gathered together for one purpose: the search for a permanent university president.

Last Thursday The Board of Governors of the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education (PASSHE) approved new flexible pricing plans for tuition at Clarion and Millersville Universities. The new plans will provide universities within the PASSHE system greater flexibility in a number of operational areas.
UPDATE State police arrested Malcolm Staten on Thursday, April 17, in connection with the shooting that occurred Sunday, April 13, at the College Park Commons, Pennlive reported. Staten, 20, of Chambersburg, was charged with aggravated assault, discharging a firearm into an occupied structure, criminal mischief and two counts each of reckless endangerment and simple assault, according to pennlive.com.
