The Tempest Review

One of the first thing that became apparent in Memorial Auditorium on Tuesday, March 11 was that, although based off the Shakespearian tale, this performance of The Tempest was not going to be your typical Shakespeare play.

Games & Tech: What's next?

One of the biggest complaints by gamers recently has been day one patches. What are they exactly? When you put your game disc into your system for the first time or when it comes out, it connects to the Internet and downloads a patch to fix last minute bugs and issues with the game. Most people would think it is a good thing, but people see it as developers putting out broken and unfinished games.

Games & Tech: What's Next?

This week marks the beginning of March and gamers are in for quite the treat. Gamers have been leery about the next generation of consoles due to the lack of games, however there are plenty of games coming out to keep everyone occupied until more triple A games come out. Episode 2 of Telltale Games’ “The Walking Dead: Season 2” is dropping March 4.

Egon, but not forgotten - Harold Ramis

Former “Ghostbusters” star Harold Ramis died Feb. 24 at the age of 69. Ramis was many things — actor, writer, director and producer — but for many of us he will be remembered for one thing and one thing only, being Dr. Egon Spengler in “Ghostbusters.” However, Ramis has done so much more than act in the franchise we all know and love.

Oscar reviews: 'Nebraska'

Many of the nominees in this year’s Best Picture category are high octane thrill rides (see American Hustle or Wolf of Wall Street). Nebraska, directed by Alexander Payne and starring Bruce Dern, is surely a change of pace in that regard.

A winter's nightmare: 'A Winter's Tale' review

The film, A Winter’s Tale, written and directed by Akiva Goldsman, falls short. It disproportionately combines themes of fantastic miracles, angels, demons, and flying horses with significant historical issues of immigration and disease.

Brindle Student Gallery: 'The Other Side'

On Monday, Feb. 24, a student exhibit called “The Other Side” will be opening in the Brindle Student Gallery featuring Wayne King, an art major with a concentration in graphic design who is a junior, non-traditional student. This student exhibit consists of mixed media, but most of the pieces are sculptural.

This year’s collection of Oscar nominees for best picture is one of the best in recent memory. All of the films are fantastic and have a wide range of stories and casts that exemplify all the best that Hollywood has to offer.
