On Wednesday Shippensburg University’s own WSYC radio station showcased a throwback to the sounds of middle school.

After a song by the band Pillar, Dj’s Joshua, Alex and Ali welcomed listeners to 88.7 FM. Joshua started to talk about how he remembers that song and he still listens to it at the age of 23. Joshua explained how he is realizing that age is getting him because of his experience at men’s retreat with his church made him feel the wrath of age. Joshua had to sleep on the hard wood floor and that killed his back.

“I’m not 19 anymore”, Joshua said. The program continued with a few more rock and roll throwbacks then a new discussion was brought up.

Ali asked, “What’s the most romantic thing you’ve done in middle school?”

Joshua said that he did not even speak to girls, he only read long novels and fully enjoyed them. Alex mentioned how he, too, did not really talk to girls but was into the jock stage of lifting and looking good. Ali talked about how her weekend consisted of a romantic surprise dinner made by her boyfriend.

As Ali was talking about her weekend the guys realized that her boyfriend makes them look bad. The program then took a break and came back to another trip down memory lane.

This radio show and all of the other programs that WSYC hosts are all about SU student college life. Not only is it easy to tune into the shows from your car radio but also on your laptop and download the app through your phone company’s app store. With all the different options be sure to listen in to WSYC 88.7 F.M.
