Volleyball picks up two key wins

Volleyball has poor showing in season-opening tournament

The Shippensburg University volleyball team opened its season over the weekend at the Tony Banner Memorial Classic. The Raiders had a record of 1-3 in the four matches played over the course of Friday and Saturday.

Men’s soccer looks to rebound

As the fall season approaches closer the Shippensburg men’s soccer team is looking forward to their new season. Last fall, the Raiders had a rough season with a record of 4-10-3. That record placed them in sixth in the Eastern Division of the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC).

Football looking to build on successful 2021 season

The Shippensburg University football team is looking to rise to the top this year. Although that challenge will not come without adversity as the Raiders have only 11 returning starters from the 2021 team, losing 17 players from last year’s team.

Marsteller sets two school records; softball splits series with Shepherd

Softball swept by Seton Hill

The Shippensburg University softball team returned to Rob Sports Complex for the first time this season. The Raiders would struggle throughout the whole series, however, and fall in both doubleheaders.

Women’s hoops defeats West Chester but falls at Lock Haven

This week the Shippensburg women’s basketball team defeated West Chester University (7-15 PSAC East) on Wednesday night at Heiges Field House. Junior Aunbrielle Green had 19 points and 19 rebounds and recorded her third double-double of the season.

Wrestling falls to No. 6 Gannon and No. 19 Mercyhurst at Shippesnburg Duals

Wrestling splits dual meet at Bloomsburg

On Wednesday night, the Shippensburg wrestling team traveled to Bloomsburg for a dual meet with Bloomsburg University and Kings College. The Raiders defeated the Monarchs 26-24 but were shutout by the Huskies 57-0.

Wrestling squeaks by Waynesburg

The Shippensburg wrestling team traveled to Waynesburg to face the Hornets on Wednesday night. The match was decided in the heavyweight 285-pound class when Danny Scheib defeated Trent Patrick 3-2.
