Shippensburg University Acting Group (SUAG) brought “Murder on the Orient Express!” to campus last week with four showings. Memorial Auditorium was buzzing on Saturday, April 19, for the play adapted from Agatha Christie’s murder mystery novel.
“I like working from nature … it’s [kind of] a big part of the content that I’m working with — and how the impressionists used that has been a really big inspiration for me,” Naomi Bard said.
Josh Turner returned to the Luhrs Performing Arts Center to tour his latest album “This Country Music Thing” on Thursday night. Turner’s opening act, Grace Asbury, got the crowd ready for what was to come.

The latest exhibit at SU’s Fashion Archives and Museum, “All Dolled Up!” opened on Wednesday. Joan Jett and the Blackhearts performed at Luhrs Performing Arts Center Friday night, bringing 80 minutes of rock ‘n roll classics to Shippensburg.
Kloey Robinson is a junior art education major who has artwork in the Brindle Gallery titled “Untold Memories.” She uses oil paint primarily in her work, while gravitating more toward purple and focusing on muted, cooler tones.

Most of the Sesame Street crew joined the Luhrs Performing Arts Center on Sunday, March 23.
Memorial Auditorium came to life Friday night during APB’s “Ship’s Got Talent.” Despite the late start to the show, the large crowd was excited to hear and watch what Shippensburg University students had to perform.
Hypnosis and improvisation combined to bring a hilarious night of HYPROV: Improv Under Hypnosis on Saturday. Featuring renowned hypnotist Asad Mecci and improv comedian Colin Mochrie (Whose Line Is It, Anyway?), they brainstormed with the crowd to create a completely unplanned show with the volunteers on stage.
Cher — or rather, the Cher tribute show, “The Beat Goes On” — took the stage at the Luhrs Performing Arts Center on Thursday night, leading the audience through six decades of the singer’s biggest hits with elaborate performances and costumes.
AJ Mitchell’s second studio album, “As Far As The Eye Can See,” was released on March 7 with 12 new tracks to dance in your room to.
Stand-up comedian Greg Warren performed at the Luhrs Performing Arts Center on March 6, bringing an hour’s worth of laughs to a large audience.
The Luhrs Center of Performing Arts is showcasing Spring Ballroom Dance, a six-week course for beginner and advanced ballroom dance techniques led by Fred Hancock. The group gathers on the Luhrs stage for a simple breakdown of four dance styles: the Tango, Cha-Cha, Swing and the Foxtrot. Dancers of all ages are welcome, partner or no partner.
