Rows of tables filled the ShipRec on Sept. 4, each promoting one of the hundreds of student organizations offered by Shippensburg University.
The Campus Activity Fair is an annual event that allows students to explore the different clubs and organizations that Ship has to offer. Everything from Greek Life to student media, to club sports and more.
Every table showcased a different student organization. Many organizations went above and beyond with decorations, with tables having custom made signs or props that represented them. Several organizations also gave out small gifts to entice students to join, such as candy or stickers.
The Campus Activity Fair gives student organizations a chance to promote themselves and recruit new members for the upcoming academic year. It is often an event that many look forward to for this reason.
“I think it’s important for freshmen to see what clubs and organizations they can join, and it gives student groups a chance to stay alive,” said WSYC General Manager Caitlyn Shetter.
Many student organizations present used the Campus Activity Fair as a way to promote their upcoming interest meetings or events.
The Campus Activity Fair also gives returning students a chance to explore clubs that they were unaware of or didn’t get a chance to join in previous years.
“I look forward to the fair every year because it reminds you how many cool organizations are on campus. I’ve joined a new group each time we’ve had one,” said SU sophomore Kai Patterson.
Anyone that missed the fun of the Campus Activity Fair can explore and join student groups, which can be found at https://ship.campusgroups.com/.
