Shippensburg University’s Activities Programming Board (APB) held an instructed paint night in the CUB MPR on Sep. 20.

Painting supplies and a guided video painting tutorial were available to attendees and APB members who participated in this fun and relaxing night.

The warm orange and purple lighting, along with the fall desserts provided, tied together the cozy atmosphere.

APB President Ella Penny said the goal of this event was “to provide people with a fun fall activity that they can take home and decorate their dorms with, or give as a gift.”

This was the first time APB had held an instructed paint night, differing from the freestyle painting events they have done in the past.

The painting video guided viewers through painting a fall-themed forest landscape, which was both slowed down and momentarily paused to ensure everyone had adequate time to complete their paintings. Having a video to follow along with helped boost confidence and creativity for all the students who participated.

This is just the start of the fall season for APB. Events such as Family Weekend Bingo and Fall Fest are set to take place in the upcoming weeks.
