Shippensburg University offers a variety of clubs and organizations for students to get involved in, but amongst these university organizations is a hidden gem—Ship’s Her Campus.
The Activities Program Board had its annual holiday bingo Friday, December 4 at 8 p.m. This year it was sponsored by Volvo, which boosted APB’s budget to $3000 and with this increase came some great prizes. Some of the prizes up for grabs included a smart TV, two laptops, a drone, a Coach wallet, a Sephora make-up palette, both an electric and acoustic guitar and the biggest of them all, a brand new hoverboard.
Students were given an opportunity to de-stress before finals with puppies and good conversation on December1 in Naugle Hall. Home@Ship, an event held every other week throughout the semester, held Paws-A-Palooza in collaboration with Kindly Canines.
As the newly-elected president of Alpha Omicron Pi, Maddison Rogers finds herself at a new point in life with new set of responsibilities and balancing school keep her busy. Last semester, Rogers was the public relations chair for her sorority and during that time she was in charge of making sure her chapter stood out amongst the rest.

The Thought Lot held its first Banjo Fun Day event on Sunday, December 6. Banjo enthusiasts from every skill level came out to either learn basic chords, or play a music session with other fellow musicians. Shippensburg University students gathered in the Grove Hall forum on Wednesday, Nov. 18, to hear Dr. Paul Marr speak on a study conducted in Chile. The presentation was titled “the Enhanced Vegetation Index Trends of High-altitude Cushion Bogs in the Andes of Northern Chile.” The study took place from 2001 to 2013.

Students at Shippensburg University learned how to belly dance at the Activities Program Board-hosted event last Thursday night at 8 p.m. The professional belly dance instructor, Deborah Colley, of Shippensburg, began the night by introducing the students to the basic steps of fitness belly dance.
McFeely’s Coffeehouse got a temporary makeover Tuesday night for all the right reasons. Pop music wafted out of the dimly lit lounge, welcoming everyone into the “Craft Café.” Some students gathered around tables, laughing and making various winter crafts, while others were getting their nails painted to perfection.
A river of metal slips through the backyard, a smooth reflection of the gray November sky. The stainless steel sculpture, 37 feet long, 6 feet wide and 12 feet tall, is an interpretation of the Susquehanna River — a project 10 years in the making with two more to go before its completion.
