Alumni help students find pathway to success

On Thursday, April 17, the Shippensburg University Career Center along with Alumni Career Services and Alpha Kappa Psi (Shippensburg’s Business Fraternity) presented “Pathways to Success.” The conference for Ship students, grad students and alumni brought in hundreds of visitors thanks, in part, to its powerhouse speaker lineup. Roger Serr kicked off the conference with a welcome, followed by a keynote from Christopher Jackson, an alumnus from the class of 1997.

Students attend conference in New Orleans

The Shippensburg University chapter of the American Marketing Association (AMA) attended a three-day conference April 10–13 at which it networked with other schools and tested sales and marketing skills against other students. Around 1,300 students from 190 different colleges and universities from schools throughout the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico attended the conference. The American Marketing Association is an organization that connects marketing professionals across the U.S.

Celebrating her life

SU says ‘no more’ at Take Back the Night rally

Marching across campus, waving signs and chanting, protestors of sexual abuse voiced their support of Women’s Violence Awareness Month at Tuesday night’s annual Take Back the Night rally. The April 1 rally, march and speak-out marked nearly 20 years since the Shippensburg University Women’s Center has hosted the event.

Alternative spring break, fourteen SU students restore shoreline at Chincoteague Bay Field Station at Wallops Island

Over spring break, 14 students and one faculty member represented the Shippensburg University Geography and Earth Science Organization (GESO) at Wallops Island, Va., to volunteer their skills and services to the Chincoteague Bay Field Station of the Marine Science Consortium. From March 14–17, the volunteers joined representatives from several regional universities in a collective effort to complete conservation-related projects for the consortium’s annual Alternative Spring Break Weekend.
