Lecture highlights flaws in criminal justice system

A lecture titled “Access to Justice: Race, Privilege, Sports & What’s Uncommunicated” was presented at Shippensburg University on Thursday in Dauphin Humanities Center to generate a conversation about the inequalities prevalent in today’s society.

SU program ranked 17th by College Choice

Shippensburg University’s doctor of business administration (DBA) graduate program was ranked 17th in the nation by College Choice this year, based upon SU’s reputation, graduate rate, selectivity and faculty resources.

Student spreads kindness using inspirational rocks

Campus has become a little bit brighter with the start of The Kindness Rocks Project, a campaign started by junior Kristin Thorpe, who has made it her mission to spread kindness on campus by inviting students to paint inspirational messages on rocks to be placed around Shippensburg University and Rails-to-Trails.

MSA’s “Feed a Friend” is back

The annual Feed-A-Friend food drive is here again, students of the African American Organization (AFRO-AM) are working to collect donations of food and money for families to enjoy this Thanksgiving.

Sociology class aims to help homeless people

Students from professor Phillip Broyles sociology senior seminar class have placed donation boxes throughout campus for “Ship’s Night Without a Home Campaign” in an effort to collect goods for the Franklin County Shelter in Chambersburg.

Students bond, raise awareness over crafts

Students gathered in McFeely’s Café on Tuesday night to raise awareness and donate items for Distributing Dignity, as well as make a variety of crafts such as ornaments, paintings and sock snowmen.

“Ship’s Got Balls” raises cancer awareness

This year, one in 263 men will be diagnosed with testicular cancer, and more than half of patients will wait for their condition to become severe before reporting their symptoms to a doctor, according to cancer.org.

Annual ceremony honors veterans

Shippensburg University’s ROTC battalion hosted its annual Veteran’s Day ceremony on Friday, honoring those who have served in the U.S. military and raising awareness of the affect American support has on soldiers serving overseas.
