The 44th Annual Shippensburg University Art & Design Exhibition held an opening reception on Saturday, April 23, 2022 in Kauffman Gallery. Awards were presented at 1:30 p.m. The show is sponsored by the SU Minds@Work Conference. Line Bruntse, an assistant professor in sculpture at Millersville University , and David Pierce, an assistant professor in interactive and graphic design at Millersville, were on the board of judges for the 2022 Exhibition.

The two literary publications on campus, Write the Ship and the Reflector, celebrated their launch on Thursday, April 21 in Stewart Hall. This event is the first in-person launch party since 2019’s books.
Carlos Mora-Fallas is a junior art major at Shippensburg University with a focus in art education. He has a wide variety of artistic passions but has a notable love for drawing.
“Bloom” is a sweet and simple short romance film, directed by Richard Anthony and distributed by Madras Talkies. The movie takes place in Chennai, India, during the lockdown of the 2020 pandemic. The film opens with a fun montage of one of the characters, Ashwin, who is a small and upcoming musician. Ashwin later finds himself messaging the second character, Mitra, through Instagram.
The Shippensburg University Jazz Ensemble performed for an enthusiastic audience on Monday, April 11, in the Luhrs Performing Arts Center.

Cameron Conroy is a junior art major at Shippensburg University with a focus in painting. Conroy is heavily invested in his journey through the art program at Ship, and has been exploring mediums, color and collaboration.
Shippensburg University welcomed renowned poets Meg Day and Teri Ellen Cross Davis on March 31 for a poetry reading, brief Q&A session and book signing. This event importantly celebrated International Trans Day of Visibility and marked the end of LGBTQ+ Health Awareness Week and Women’s History Month. It was sponsored by multiple campus organizations including The Reflector and The PAGE Center.
Emmy and Tony award winner Kristin Chenoweth dazzled the Shippensburg University campus on March 24 at the H. Ric Luhrs Performing Arts Center with “An Evening with Kristin Chenoweth.” Chenoweth performed songs from her most recent albums, fan favorites from Broadway and other well-known sentimental pieces.
Colby Page is a sophomore art education major, with a focus in secondary education at Shippensburg University. He is the current sculpture intern and assistant under professor Steve Dolbin. Page is also working on a sculpture concept in hopes of the finished product being installed on campus grounds, to bring awareness to the attacks on Ukraine.

Shippensburg University hosted the 74th Annual Pennsylvania Intercollegiate Band Festival in the Luhrs Performing Arts Center on Sunday, Feb. 27. Founded in 1948, the Pennsylvania Intercollegiate Band is the oldest continually operating band of its kind in the United States.
It is an annual tradition for the students at Shippensburg University to set aside their differences for the month of February and take part in some acts of kindness.
