Shippensburg University students sailed into success and dressed to impress at the Career Center’s annual Sailing into Success Fashion Show in the CUB MPR on March 26. The show was sponsored by SU’s Raider Ready Professional Dress Closet and Enterprise Mobility.

Models showed off multiple kinds of dress in the different categories: everyday clothes, business casual and business professional.

The goal of the fashion show was for students to “learn about the importance of professional clothing, fashionable options to wear in the workplace and get connected with other resources to prepare for the Job and Internship Fair,” as noted by the Career Center’s Instagram: @shipcareer.

The Raider Ready Professional Dress Closet is located in CUB 108 and provides SU students with a select number of free clothing items per semester.

Donors provide gently used clothes for the closet, with roughly 95% of the dress closet being donated items. The dress closet has served more than 500 students in the last year and has already almost surpassed that number this year.

There were numerous gifts given throughout the show. Upon entering the MPR, attendees were handed raffle tickets that could be entered in to win $25 and $50 Amazon gift cards. There were also free laptop bags in the back for students to take with them.

The Sailing into Success Fashion Show was just the start of the Career Center’s annual Career Week. Events including Resumania, the Job Fair Success Workshop and the Spring 2026 Job and Internship Fair are still on the way this week.
