Shippensburg University’s women’s tennis team faced Millersville University, West Chester University and Bloomsburg University to finish their regular season this past week. Their overall record finishes at 8-13, and their PSAC record finishes at 1-5.

On Wednesday, the Raiders traveled to Millersville for a divisional match. The Raiders earned two points on the day, ultimately falling 5-2.

Senior Brooklyn Rupert and sophomore Brinley Orris earned default victories at No. 5 and No. 6 singles, respectively.

Rupert and freshman Jade Miller won three games at No. 2 doubles.

Junior Corrine Markovich, senior Yasmin De Meyer and sophomore Rachel Gallagher each won two games in their singles matches.

Moving to Friday, SU traveled to West Chester for their next match of the week. The match started with an impressively close win in No. 3 doubles by sophomore Ava Kalist and senior Kendall Winters, 7-6 (7-5).

The Rams claimed the doubles points with wins at No.1 and No. 2 doubles.

At singles, Orris earned the only SU point of the day with a strong win at No. 6, 6-0, 6-2.

Markovich won four games at No. 1 singles, and Miller and Gallagher each won three games at No. 3 and No. 4, respectively. The final team score was 6-1 for West Chester.

The Raiders completed their regular season at home against Bloomsburg, the Eastern Division Champions. SU was competitive throughout the match but fell 7-0. At No. 2 doubles, Rupert and Gallagher went to a tough tiebreaker but could not grab the win.

Winters had a close back-and-forth in her singles match. She won the first set 6-0 and then dropped the second set 2-6 to enter a tiebreaker. Her opponent ultimately edged Winters 13-11.

De Meyer won five games at No. 2 singles and two games with Markovich at No. 1 doubles.

Orris won four games at No. 5 singles, and Miller won three games at No. 3 singles.

The team celebrated their two seniors, Rupert and Winters, with a Senior Day celebration on Saturday. The two seniors also served as captains and SAAC representatives for the 2025-26 team.

Rupert competed in 56 singles and 64 doubles matches as a Raider, while Winters competed in 47 singles and 59 doubles matches.

Eight Raiders are slated to return next fall for the 2025-26 season
