SGA hosts brief public meeting

The Student Government Association held a public meeting on March 31 in Orndorff Theater at 4:15 p.m.. The meeting concluded shortly after the opening remarks, despite the tensions present at the last public meeting.

“Due to the Career Fair and other end of year obligations, we did not have enough members to establish a quorum. As we get closer to the end of the year, this is not surprising,” President Riley Brown said of the brief SGA meeting. The agenda also mentioned the abbreviated public meeting in response to an extended internal meeting the previous Tuesday.

Had there been enough members present, the SGA had planned to approve budget and finance related decisions for student organizations and constitutions for both new and reactivated student groups.

The SGA is planning to move forward with Senator Elections and will be swearing in the 2022-2023 SGA on April 22 at 3:30 p.m..

The next public SGA meeting is April 14 and will be the last public meeting of the spring semester.
