Shippensburg University will once again host “The Vagina Monologues,” a series of presentations of women describing their experiences with their vaginas Friday, 8-10 p.m, Saturday, 1-3 p.m. and 8-10 p.m.
The director of this year’s monologues, Ali Laughman, wants students to come enjoy the show and learn more about vaginas that they may not already know.
“We [Women’s Center] see the monologues as a very educational experience,” Laughman said. “Where we’re located in Cumberland County, discussions like this aren’t brought up like they should be.” Laughman co-directed last year.
“The Vagina Monologues” have been presented at SU annually since 2003.
This will be the first series of monologues without former Women’s Center Director Stephanie Erdice.
“The monologues are a great place to learn about natural bodily functions,” Laughman said.
She added that monologues are also a great way for people to get together and share their experiences.
Tickets can be purchased at the Women’s Center in Horton Hall or through Laughman.
Tickets bought in advance cost $5, or $7 at the door.
