Shippensburg’s “Shipelodeon” homecoming 2018 festivities were continued with a night of bingo on Saturday.

The Activities Program Board (APB) sponsored a bingo night to keep the homecoming festivities alive. There was food students enjoyed from their childhoods, like macaroni and cheese, chicken tenders and bagel bites.

Throwback music played in the background while raffles were offered with $3,000 worth of prizes to be won. The prizes included gift cards, SU swag, a TCL television and more.

Bingo is a popular event among students because it gives them something to do.

“I always enjoy bingo because it keeps students from going out and partying,” senior Julie Price said. “It also gives the students who aren’t into partying a chance to do something fun.”

When multiple people won a bingo round, a rock, paper, scissors game was played to determine the winner. The winner of the best two out of three games walked away with the bingo prize. However, the loser of the tiebreaker still walked away with a Dunkin’ Donuts gift card.

“I go to bingo because I want to feel lucky, and I really enjoy the free prizes,” said senior Casey Leming, the winner of the TCL television. “I could not believe it when I won the bingo. I almost didn’t stand up at first because I thought maybe I marked a wrong number.”
