In a theater packed to the brim with its fair share of children, teenagers and adults of all ages, simultaneously clutching and inhaling their popcorn and sodas, the buildup of excitement was practically tangible.

The lights dimmed, and all settled into their seats, letting nostalgia flood over them as the title, “Finding Dory” appeared on the screen, commencing the long-awaited sequel of a childhood favorite, “Finding Nemo”.

“Finding Dory” tied together the loose ends and missing pieces of the 13-year-old Disney classic, “Finding Nemo,” and made the life of Dory the primary subject matter of the film. Questions left unanswered for over a decade with “Finding Nemo,” finally made an appearance on the big screen in the forms of Dory’s family and childhood life.

On account of various Deja vu moments and all too familiar sounding voices experienced by Dory, something happened that never had before – rather than forgetting, she remembered!

These broken, although significant memories took her on a journey across the sea yet again, however, this time in search of her own family.

Disney did a remarkable job with creating an all-embracing sequel film to “Finding Nemo,” in which every individual in the audience, despite their age, experienced the same colorful, yet balanced spectrum of emotions that the movie itself provoked. “Finding Nemo,” and “Finding Dory,” flowed together seamlessly and effortlessly with the universal theme of crossing the sea for the ones you love.

The wait for the sequel to “Finding Nemo” was surely lengthy, but in this case –the wait was undeniably worth it in every aspect.

Much like the cherished memories that flooded back to Dory in the film, “Finding Dory” is a movie that viewers will remember for many years to come.
