The Activities Program Board had its annual holiday bingo Friday, December 4 at 8 p.m. This year it was sponsored by Volvo, which boosted APB’s budget to $3000 and with this increase came some great prizes.

Some of the prizes up for grabs included a smart TV, two laptops, a drone, a Coach wallet, a Sephora make-up palette, both an electric and acoustic guitar and the biggest of them all, a brand new hoverboard. With over 320 students in attendance, it was safe to say that everyone was staying until the very end for their chance at winning the board.

Throughout the night, there was also chicken noodle soup, ham and cheese sandwiches, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, chocolate chip cookies and hot chocolate, all free for students.

“I thought it would be a good idea to have food there because with the state grants not being distributed, I figured it would be a good way to get students to come out and have a meal while having fun with other students,” said Bryanna Beamer, the entertainment chairperson of APB.

There were many tied games of bingo that had to be battled out by a game of rock, paper, scissors. The best game, however, was the one to win the hover board. With the classic black out, at round two students called bingo and after a best out of three games, the new owner was beyond excited.

“I couldn’t believe I won, I was about to leave because I had lost all the other rounds. I’m definitely glad I stayed,” said the first year student.

Overall the night was a success and many students left looking forward to the next APB bingo.
