Shippensburg (4-5-1), 3-5-1 PSAC) tallied one goal, but undefeated Gannon (10-0, 9-0 PSAC) prevailed 2-1 on a very cold day at David See Field.

Shippensburg had many obstacles in today’s game. They were outshot 23-5, 7-2 shots on goal. Gannon had 8 corners to Shippensburg’s 2. Shippensburg was offside 3 times, as well.

In the 27th minute, Ship’s Casey Rightmyer scored her 2nd goal of the season. She was assisted by Ashley Weaver. Ship’s goalie Leah Roy had 5 saves.

Gannon’s Mani Brueckner scored a goal in the 72nd minute, for her 8th goal of the season. Shortly after, in the 86th minute, Kaitlyn Kissell scored a long shot from 20-plus yards: it was her 1st goal of the season.

The next two games for Shippensburg are away at Seton Hill on October 7th and at Mercyhurst on October 10th. The next home game is Tuesday, October 13, 2015, at 3:30 p.m.
