The Raiders season came to an end after they were eliminated from the postseason after back-to-back losses to the Seton Hill Griffins and California Vulcans (PA) at Kelly Automotive Park in Butler, Pa.

The Raiders dropped their first game 11-5 to California and were knocked out of the playoffs with their 9-3 loss to California.

Shippensburg finished the season with a record of 25-25.

Game 1 vs Seton Hill

The Raiders jumped to an early 2-0 lead, but their inability to keep pace with Seton Hill resulted in an 11-5 loss in their first PSAC Tournament matchup. Shippensburg finished the game with five runs and totaled seven hits.

Out the gate, the Raiders came swinging for the fences. After Junior Mike Marcinko drew a walk, Jake Kennedy smacked his team-leading 19th home run of the season to give Shippensburg a two-run lead.

Shippensburg surrendered the lead the next inning after the Griffins posted three runs off of three hits. The Griffins added another five runs in the bottom of the fifth to put the game out of reach.

Senior Cody Ezolt ended the game with two home runs and three RBI’s.

Game 2 vs California

Shippensburg recorded 10 hits, but were outscored 9-3 by California in an elimination game in the PSAC Tournament.

The Vulcans grabbed a 2-0 run lead in the first inning, but the Raiders evened the game the next inning after sophomore Ryan McMillen singled an RBI and freshman Nick Spangler singled to right field for an RBI.

California put the game out of reach after totaling five runs in the fifth inning. Shippensburg scored one more run in the bottom of the seventh after Spangler singled for his second RBI of the game.
