A prayer is just an email away.

The Catholic Campus Ministry (C.C.M.) and Newman Association (N.A.) gather at Cora I. Grove Spiritual Center 215 on Thursdays from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. to pray the Rosary. To submit a prayer request, send an email to Roxanne Dennis at RMdenn@ship.edu.

Mrs. Roxanne Dennis and Father Dwight Schlaline, pastor at Our Lady of the Visitation church, are the Catholic campus ministers for Shippensburg University. Father Schlaline can be reached at (717) 532-2912.

The N.A. of S.U. is a student-run organization, affiliated with the C.C.M., which meets Wednesday nights at 5 p.m. in the sanctuary of the Spiritual Center. Students gather to eat dinner, enjoy fellowship and play games.

The N.A. of S.U.’s mission statement is “to provide a supportive environment which the undergraduate and graduate students of Shippensburg University community can practice their faith through religious activities.” Their mission is to encourage the Catholic campus community to interact and grow together spiritually.

Every fall semester, the N.A. of S.U. takes a service trip to the Silence of Mary Home (SoMH) located in Harrisburg, PA. The SoMH is a home located in the Allison Hill area of Harrisburg and its stated goal is to provide a family environment for disadvantaged and at-risk persons. According to their website, “Our family home provides a family environment for ‘the least of our brothers,’ those who are the most disadvantaged and at the highest risk level.” The SoMH serves by providing independent living skills training, education, job opportunities, spiritual faith, counseling and other supportive services. Additional information can be found at www.thesilenceofmary.org.

For more information about the N.A. of S.U., contact Emma Hergenroeder at EH5444@ship.edu.
