Do you want to celebrate Halloween but do not have the money? Well, trick or treat, you do not need it. We have assembled this handy guide for how to celebrate Halloween with the college student in mind. Our tips are so scary good, they will have you crying for your mummies.

1. Celebrate with Local Businesses

Local shops and restaurants are getting into the Halloween spirit, and they want to celebrate with you. For example, if you show up at any Chipotle on Halloween after 5 p.m. with a costume, you can score a burrito for just $3. Drop of Ink, a tattoo parlor in Shippensburg, is offering 1×1 designs for a reduced price of just $30 throughout the month of October. The Hot Point Inn invites locals to its midnight costume party on Halloween. Prizes will be awarded to the sexiest, scariest, most original and best overall costumes.

2. Pumpkin Carving

Carving or decorating pumpkins is a great way to have some Halloween fun with your friends. Most pumpkins are between $5 and $10, and a simple sculpting kit can be picked up for just $6.32 at Walmart. The best part is that you can even bake the pumpkin seeds for a delicious snack.

3. Netflix Movies

One especially cheap way to celebrate Halloween is by watching TV. All you need is a cable provider or a Netflix subscription, and you are good to go. Netflix has an entire queue of Halloween flicks to watch — such as The Nightmare Before Christmas, Children of the Corn, The Addams Family, The Blair Witch Project, or The Haunted Mansion.

4. Bargain Shopping at Walmart

Walmart has a plethora of $1 decorations you can buy in the seasonal section including strings of orange and black lights or spooky bulbs, webbing for your walls, and even full-sized door posters.

5. Halloween Playlist

Looking for some musical chills? Apps like Pandora and Grooveshark let you assemble that perfect Halloween playlist. Songs like Thriller, Ghostbusters, and This is Halloween are musts.
