Shippensburg Field Hockey dominated Slippery Rock on Tuesday afternoon, outshooting the tenth-ranked squad 10-0 in the conference matchup.

The Lady Raiders (5-1, 3-1 PSAC) scored first on a penalty shot 20 minutes into the match from sophomore defender Suzanne Muller. The Netherlands’ native is now three-for-three in stroke conversion attempts in her career.

The second goal came 26 minutes after halftime. Senior Lucy Kauffman slammed a shot from the top of the circle toward the opponent’s net. Freshman forward Emily Barnard tipped it in for the score, her second on the season.

Slippery Rock (3-4, 1-2 PSAC) failed to get off a shot for 70 minutes of play, as the Raiders controlled the clock and pace of play. SU held a 12-1 margin in penalty corners on the night.

The Rock’s goalkeeper Carlee DuMars had four saves on the afternoon, and the back line had three defensive stops as well.

The Raiders visit Bloomsburg on Saturday at 11 a.m. The Lady Huskies are 2-4 on the season, and are on a two-game losing streak against Millersville and West Chester.
