The Shippensburg University Wrestling team faced-off against West Liberty University, and looked for a win after a tough loss to Gannon University. SU needed a win to regain momentum, and won in a dominating fashion of 40-6 against WLU.

SU took a 19-0 nothing lead in the opening matches, and finished winning eight of the 10 total matches during the night.

SU won the opening four matches with three technical falls wins by Dereck Enders at 125 pounds, Cody Meyers at 141 pounds and Ean Starner in the 149-pound division. Cameron Throckmorton added to the victories with a majority decision win in the third match of the night.

In the dominating performance, SU scored two pins during the night. John Linquist scored the first pin in the 165-pound division. The pin came in the final seconds of the first period.

Sophomore Neal Grudi pinned his opponent in the 174-pound division early in the second period of his match.

Adding to the win column, sophomore Luke Etter won a 3-1 decision in the 184-pound division.
There was only one forfeit during the match, giving Jacob Nale the forfeit victory for SU.
In all, no SU wrestler was taken down during the dual met against WLU, and SU improved its record to 11-6 on the season.

This Friday night, in Heiges Field House, SU will look to carry its momentum onto the home mat when it faces a struggling Anderson, whose record is 4-15 this year.
