Looking to bounce back from a loss to East Stroudsburg University, the Raiders faced off against Millersville University Wednesday evening in a PSAC matchup but a failed buzzer beater by Reggie Charles cemented a 63-62 loss.

SU battled back and forth with MU at the start of the game, where the teams were tied three times in the opening five minutes. SU took a five-point lead after a Charles jumper and another two from Tony Ellis.

MU inched closer to the lead and brought the score within two with seven minutes left to play in the first half. After two turnovers, SU regained composure after a layup by Tyhiem Perrin with six minutes to go in the first half.

SU held on to the lead for the final six minutes of the half, aided by free throws from Sam Pygatt and Reggie Charles. A powerful dunk by Dylan Edgar put SU up by six with three minutes left. SU took a seven-point lead into the locker room.

SU started the second half carrying the momentum from the first with a jumper by Dylan Edgar in the opening 20 seconds of the half. SU held the lead for the majority of the second half until MU tied the game with eight minutes left. MU’s biggest lead was five points, but SU battled back to within one point with about a minute left in the game. SU was unable to capitalize on two shot opportunities at the end of the game, including a last second shot by Charles.

SU will look to stop the losing streak with a PSAC game against Cheyney University on Saturday afternoon.
