A 20-year-old man was shot around 1 a.m. Saturday in Sunbeam Court near the Shippensburg University campus.

The shooting took place Saturday morning after a group approached a house wanting to start a fight with someone they believed to be inside according to both CBS 21 and FOX 43.

A scuffle broke out and CBS 21 and FOX 43 both reported that somebody threw a chair out of a first-story window. Shortly after the chair broke through the window, the shooter began to fire at the outside of the house, according to CBS 21 and FOX 43.

The injured man was inside the house and was shot in the torso. He was taken to Chambersburg Hospital, treated and released.

As of 4:40 p.m. when Shippensburg University students received the latest SU Alert, police were still investigating the incident. The SU Alert advised students to visit www.pennlive.com, www.whptv.com, www.abc27.com and www.fox43.com for more detailed information.

Anyone with information is asked to contact State Police at 717–249–2121.
