Raiders thwarted by Kutztown

Shippensburg University men’s basketball lost to Kutztown University 68–63 in a close contest Saturday afternoon.

The game started off slow for SU. With 15 minutes left in the first half, the Raiders trailed 8–3. However, with 10 minutes to go in the first half, the team gained its footing and exchanged the lead multiple times.

By halftime SU trailed the Golden Bears 38–35. KU was shooting 60 percent from the field. SU managed to keep the game close throughout the second half.

Despite keeping the game close in the second half SU, was never able to gain a lead. However, they remained within less than 10 points of the lead throughout the entire second half. The Raiders, led by Dylan Edgar, battled hard but were unable to retake the lead.

Even with 43 seconds remaining, SU was only down 66–63. Unfortunately, the team was never able to catch enough momentum to pass KU.

SU lost to the Golden Bears 68–63. Edgar posted the best numbers for SU with 24 points and 12 rebounds.

KU has improved to 2–6 for the season and to 1–2 in PSAC play while SU is now 2–5 overall and 0–3 in the division.
