SU mourns loss of legendary coach Goodling

In early May, the Shippensburg University family lost one of the major faces of sports at the University. On May 3, 2016, SU’s legendary men’s basketball coach Rodger Goodling peacefully passed away at the age of 79 in his home in Carlisle.

Raiders fight hard, but fall to Mercyhurst, 8-3

With the 2016 academic year in the books, the Shippensburg University baseball squad opened up postseason play Sunday in Butler, Pennsylvania, with a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) playoff game against nationally-ranked No. 21 Mercyhurst University.

SU steals one from Millersville

The Shippensburg University baseball team weathered the storm versus the No. 1 team in Division II and picked up an easy non-conference win last week as it tried to stay in position to take the last playoff spot in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern division. The Raiders opened up the week with a blowout win at the University of the Sciences, 15-0, and closed out its week winning one game of a four-game series on a walk off versus Millersville University, 2-1.

Women’s track and field excels at SU Invitational

Shippensburg University hosted the SU Invitational this past Wednesday at Seth Grove Stadium. The women’s team not only broke school records, but also picked up several new conference qualifiers in the process. SU junior Tamara Ovejera broke the school’s discus record to give her a second school record in a matter of five days.
