After a back and forth first half, the Shippensburg University women’s basketball team used a spectacular fourth quarter to blow by the Rams of Philadelphia University, 67–44 at Heiges Field House.

After a slow start, the Shippensburg University men’s basketball team used a 17–5 run to conclude the first half and upend Shepherd University, 88–62, in a non-conference game Dec. 19 at Heiges Field House.

Men’s basketball looks to continue record-breaking start

The 2016-17 Shippensburg University men’s basketball team is off to a hot start, tallying wins at a rapid pace. SU won its first seven games this season, which stands as an SU record for the most consecutive wins to start a season. Past seasons have not always been perfect for the Raiders, as SU is just three years removed from a three-win season.

Kieran Sutton ends strong cross-country career

Senior Shippensburg University men’s cross-country runner Kieran Sutton was a man on a mission this season. He achieved All-American honors at the NCAA National Championships in Saint Leo, Florida, after a 25th-place finish with a time of 31:00.9. His time helped Shippensburg achieve to a 16th-place finish overall as a team.

The Shippensburg University women’s basketball team used double-digit scoring efforts from two of its starters to rout the University of the District of Columbia (UDC) Firebirds by a score of 70–33 at Heiges Field House.

Wrestling falls to Mercyhurst and Gannon

Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) schools Mercyhurst University and Gannon University traveled to Heiges Field House to battle Shippensburg University’s wrestling team in a quad-meet on Saturday.
