Men’s soccer shuts out California in PSAC matchup

Shippensburg University’s men’s soccer team pulled out a 1-0 victory in its PSAC opener against California (Pa.) on Wednesday afternoon. Sophomore Robert Furfaro, who entered the game as a substitute, scored the lone goal in the 72nd minute to propel the Red Raiders to victory.

Men’s Soccer falls in heated matchup to Slippery Rock

Shippensburg University’s men soccer team lost a close and heated matchup against PSAC opponent Slippery Rock, 2-1, on Saturday. The game was very physical and featured a total of nine cards, including two red cards that disqualified a player from each team.

Football drops 30-38 decision to undefeated Bloomsburg

Shippensburg’s high-powered offense can handle some of the toughest defenses in PA football. But Bloomsburg put up an 18-point lead early on, with a key fumble touchdown, and leaned on their defense to hold off the Raiders (2-2, 1-2 PSAC) on Saturday afternoon.

Field Hockey shuts out Bloomsburg 3-0

The Shippensburg Field Hockey team used crisp passing and aggressive offense to take down Bloomsburg 3-0 on the road this past Saturday. Freshman Emily Barnard scored twice in the game, and senior Tori Ricker added another in the shutout.

Raiders volleyball goes 0-4 in PSAC crossover

The women’s volleyball team dropped four straight games this past weekend at the Heiges Field House against Seton Hill, California (PA), Clarion, and Indiana (PA). The matches started on Friday morning when the Lady Raiders (6-6) hosted the undefeated Seton Hill Griffins (12-0) for the Raiders first home game of the season.

Defensive injuries for SU football lead to downfall vs. California

Shippensburg is known for shooting it out and winning. They received a dose of their own medicine on Saturday, as California put up 660 yards of offense and eight touchdowns to beat the Raiders at home on Parents and Family Day. As usual, Shippensburg (2-1, 1-1 PSAC) came out on fire and scored first on a 38-yard Trevor Harman touchdown reception less than five minutes into the game.

Raiders Fall in Double OT to Washington Adventist

On Friday night, the Shippensburg University Men’s Soccer team failed to score, and were shutout by Washington Adventist, who won in the second overtime period, 1-0. Samuel Kahsi scored the lone goal, and Adventist escaped with a victory despite being outshot 21-9 by the Raiders.

Raiders Tie Wesleyan in Close Match

The second goal of the season for junior Brooke Moyer was not enough for the Raiders, as they tied West Virginia Wesleyan 1-1 on Wednesday night. The Raiders opened the scoring at the 18 minute mark, when senior Fred Lucas directed a corner kick towards the net, and Moyer finished off the play with a header.

Raiders football scores five unanswered TD’s in 47-21 rout of Edinboro

The Shippensburg University Football team knew that to improve on last year’s 7-4 campaign, which they started out 0-2, they would need to start the season off right. They have done just that, winning their second game of the season on Saturday afternoon with balanced ground, air and defensive attacks to beat the Edinboro Fighting Scots (0-2) 47-21and remain undefeated (2-0). Senior wide out Trevor Harman broke several long-standing Raider’s records on the day.
