Women’s Center celebrates 100th anniversary of the 19th Amendment

The Women’s Center at Shippensburg University celebrated the 19th Amendment over Zoom with a panel of speakers from both on- and off-campus organizations. Speakers paid tribute to those who fought for the right and the diversity among them. Many speakers addressed the importance of voting in the upcoming elections and encouraged attendees to register to vote.

Pride Center searches for new director

Dani Zinn, the former director of the Pride Center, decided to join the Air Force in August and stepped down from her role, according to Arielle Catron, the interim director of the Pride Center and director of the Women’s Center.

Campus remembers 9/11

The Shippensburg University ROTC and members of the SU community commemorated the 19th anniversary of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks with the annual ceremony outside of the Erza Lehman Memorial Library. With nearly 40 people in attendance, Junior, Cadet Gavin Bupp, opened the ceremony by welcoming the students, faculty, staff and administrations.

Shippensburg OKs anti-discrimination ordinance at meeting

SGA announces election results

Shippensburg University Student Government Association (SGA) elections wrapped up last week. The four remaining SGA senator seats were filled, according to an SGA email. The elections began Aug. 31 and ended Thursday. Students ran to fill the non-traditional, female athletics, class of 2024 senator and the class of 2022 senator positions.
