Mitski speaks to burnt-out audience with new single

 Mitski Miyawaki has made her comeback after 2 years of silence with a new single, ‘Working for the Knife.’ The song premiered with a deeply emotional music video directed by Zia Anger at 10 a.m. EST on Oct. 5. Mitski, a Japanese-American musician, discusses her lost hopes and her feelings towards the music industry, giving her followers a look into her headspace over the hiatus. This insight is also raising questions about what is to come.

SUMB debuts show and excites crowds for upcoming football season

The Shippensburg University Marching Band (SUMB) put on their first halftime performance since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic at the football game last Saturday. Their 2021 show titled “Rise Above” aims to inspire perseverance, and encapsulate the challenges put forth by the pandemic. The band itself faced many setbacks over the past 18 months, only practicing in small, sectional groups with no real opportunities for performance.

Halloween is hands down my favorite holiday. I love the lore, crisp air, flavors and the close proximity to my birthday. It’s a day centered solely around fun. The only issue I ever have is the lack of creativity in Halloween playlists. Sure, I could listen to all the kitschy songs year-round, but where is the musical diversity?
