It was a time warp back to 1978 when the Little River Band (LRB) performed at Shippensburg University’s H. Ric Luhrs Performing Arts Center Saturday night. When the band’s banner slowly inched down at the beginning of the concert, the crowd was in pure euphoria and fans were swaying, tapping and clapping along to LRB’s classics.

Shrinking a lifelong compilation of nearly 4,000 sketches down to 20 was an arduous task for Toronto, Canada-based designer and educator, Ian Stewart. These final 20 pieces of artwork that survived the scrutiny of Stewart and other design professionals, are on display in Shippensburg University’s Kauffman Gallery, titled “Drawn to Form: Doodles, Drawings and Dimensions.”

Gentle giant Okja oinks out for all animals that have suffered through the inhumane practices of factory farming or a life destined for the slaughterhouse in the Netflix original movie, “Okja.” Through her harrowing fight for life, Okja brings the topic of animal welfare back into the eye of the public as we are left with some substantial food for thought that deviates well beyond the fictional super pig.

After dropping an EP entitled “Prima Donna” last summer, the Long Beach rapper Vince Staples quickly got to work on his new full-length album. In the months leading up to the release of “Big Fish Theory,” Staples dropped three singles and embarked on a tour of the United States.

Shippensburg University’s McFeely’s Coffeehouse lounge is a small, dimly lit space fit with more chairs than it ever fills and a thin, wooden stage that rarely gets much use. Despite the meager venue and the modest crowd of 20 students, SU’s Game On: Improv! comedy group still aimed for the big laughs at its final public performance of the semester on May 4.
