Republican candidate Catherine Wallen won the election for the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for District 193 on March 17.

Adams and Cumberland counties held a special election between Democrat Todd Crawley and Wallen. They will both be on the ballot for a full State House term in the November general election.

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania has estimated that 59.73 percent of vote went to Wallen, and 40.27 percent to Crawly. Votes were composed of 5,232 going to Wallen and 3,528 to Crawly.

Previous State Rep. Torren Ecker was elected as Judge of the Adams County Court of Common Pleas, and on Dec. 30, 2025, resigned from the House to assume his new position as judge according to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives archives.

According to Wallen’s campaign she focused on small businesses and building up local agriculture. She spent eight years as the district director for the 193 Legislative District of Pennsylvania’s House of Representatives.

Crawley’s campaign said he was focused on incorporating his work as Harrisburg Area Community College’s Director of Public and Environmental Health and Safety during his 20 years working in higher education. Crawley’s platform was looking to engage with educational and environmental issues.

With Wallen’s victory in the special election she will hold office until she runs again during the general elections on Nov. 3, 2026, according to Cumberland county.
