The results for the 2026 Student Government Association (SGA) officer elections were announced on Friday, Feb. 27, with the voting period running from Feb. 23-26.

This year’s elections saw a notable decrease in voter turnout compared to spring 2025, with 63 voters casting their ballots compared to 301 voters from last year’s election. This contrasts with the senator elections in fall 2025, which saw a noticeable upswing in participation.

The race for each of the four SGA officer positions was uncontested. Current Vice President of Finance Emily Wojnarski was elected as the next SGA president, with current College of Arts and Sciences Senator Ryan Mills winning the election to take over her role.

SGA Vice President Daniel McCleary and Vice President of Student Groups Chase Garrison were both reelected to their positions.

Each of the four candidates outlined their visions for the Shippensburg University campus at a public forum held on Thursday, Feb. 19. These four will constitute the Election Leadership Committee (ELC) starting in fall 2026.

SGA elections for this spring have not yet concluded, as the next senator election will be held later this semester. Petitions for senator positions will be available at the CUB Info Desk on Monday, March 23, and are due back on Friday, April 3.

Voting will open on Monday, April 20, and will conclude on Thursday, April 23.
