Shippensburg University's men's soccer team ended its season Thursday with a 2-1 loss at West Chester in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division matchup.

West Chester took the early lead in the second minute of the match, scoring on a corner kick goal from lan Alicea. Shippensburg found the equalizer in the 30th minute when WCU fouled sophomore Kyle Ganley, setting up a free kick attempt just outside the 18.

Senior Luke Kramer's initial free-kick attempt came off a Golden Ram’s forehead and bounced in the direction of freshman Pat McNamara near the penalty spot. McNamara volleyed the ball that rebounded off sophomore Nate Herb's right shoulder blade and flew into the back of the net.

Herb was given credit for the goal, his fourth of the season. McNamara was credited with his first collegiate assist.

The game remained tied until a late miscue in the 81st minute by SU junior goalkeeper Ryan Krumenacker resulted in the WCU game-winner.

An SU defender tried to redirect the ball in the box from West Chester back to Krumenacker in goal, but a poor touch forced the SU keeper to go to the ground to avoid an own goal.  Krumenacker was unable to corral it, resulting in a tap-in for WCU’s Makysm Komperda at the far post.

Krumenacker totaled eight saves, one off his season high.

West Chester held a significant advantage over Shippensburg in total shots (26), shots on goal (10) and corners (12). The Raiders managed only five total shots, with two on goal and one corner.

Shippensburg concludes the 2025 season with a record of 3-9-4 overall and 0-7-3 in the PSAC East.
