Over the last few weeks, it has been brought to The Slate staff’s attention that the commenting feature on theslateonline.com is not functioning properly. Comments can be made, but do not appear after posting.

We are currently in the process of repairing this feature with our website management provider. Until the ability to comment is fixed, we ask that our readers contribute any thoughts they may have directly to our editorial staff through our emails, which can be found on our website.

We would also like to address accusations that the The Slate has deliberately hidden comments in an attempt to censor or silence opposing viewpoints. This is not true. We welcome lively and respectful conversation and invite any readers who disagree with any viewpoints expressed in our publication to make their voices heard.

We encourage readers to express their viewpoints by submitting a letter to the editor. Letters should be limited to 300 words and be sent to slate.ship@gmail.com a week prior to our publication on Tuesdays. Submissions must include your name and affiliation to Shippensburg University.
