Dear Students,

Welcome back to another exciting academic year at Shippensburg University! As the newly elected Student Government President, I am more than thrilled to extend my warmest greetings to each and every one of you. Whether you are a returning student or an incoming freshman who is beginning their journey, it is my honor to serve you all and advocate for your needs.

Throughout the years, Shippensburg University has faced adversity through events such as the COVID-19 Pandemic but has been able to persevere all because of you. We have been able to reach to the top and overcome things in our way and thrive as a community. Our community has learned and will continue to learn how to be resilient as we’ve always been. Applying what we have learned and turning them into strengths we have gained only makes us stronger.

This academic year is either a student's last year at attending or another student's beginning. That does not change the fact that we are all here for one overall concept– knowledge. We all came to Shippensburg University for our own reasons but one thing we look to gain is knowledge. Knowledge is what drives us to discover new things and learn about issues we did not know before and learn more about ourselves. It is what helps us to succeed.

One of the core goals of our Student Government this year is to ensure that every student feels heard, represented and supported. We are committed to working tirelessly to address your concerns, foster a safe and inclusive environment and enhance your overall university experience. We value your opinions and feedback, so please do not hesitate to reach out to us with any suggestions, ideas or issues you would like us to address.

As we embark on this academic journey together, let us prioritize kindness, respect, and empathy towards one another. We are a diverse community, and it is our differences that make us stronger. Let us embrace our uniqueness and foster an environment where everyone feels accepted and valued.

I am confident that this academic year will be filled with countless achievements, personal growth, and memorable moments. Together, we will create a legacy that future generations of students will be proud to inherit.

On behalf of the entire Student Government, I wish you all a successful and fulfilling year here at Shippensburg University!

Best regards,

Harun Pacavar
