Junior Rashon Johnson led the Shippensburg University men’s basketball team to two Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) wins this week over Bloomsburg and East Stroudsburg universities.

SU (14-5, 11-3 PSAC) got its first win of the week on Wednesday behind Johnson’s 24 points and career-high 15 rebounds, along with his career-high six steals.

Three other players posted in double figures in the win, as graduate Jake Biss scored 19 points and added five assists. Senior Kiyon Hardy poured in 16 points to go with three assists and rebounds each, and redshirt-junior Dom Sleva shot a perfect 4-4 from the floor for 10 points.

Senior Youssef Diabate scored a career-high seven points off the bench while also pulling down a career-high four rebounds.

The Raiders shot 48 percent from the field while committing a season-low four turnovers on their way to an easy 90-64 victory.

On Saturday, Shippensburg traveled to East Stroudsburg to battle with the Warriors for first place in the PSAC East Division.

The Raiders hot shooting continued as they shot 57 percent from the field, including 66 percent from behind the three-point line, in the first half jumping out to a 15-point halftime lead.

East Stroudsburg opened the second half on a 20-8 run to cut the lead to single digits, but SU used its defense to extend the lead back to double digits.

The Raiders held the Warriors to just 17 percent shooting from three-point range and kept them 22 points below their season scoring average.

Johnson scored a game-high 27 points, marking his sixth 20-point game of the season and his third straight.

Biss dropped in 18 points on 8-12 shooting to go along with five rebounds and four assists. Sleva achieved his third double-double of the season with 11 points and 10 boards and freshman Michael Dunn scored seven points off the bench.

SU will return to the floor on Wednesday at 8 p.m. when it hosts the second-place Millersville Marauders at Heiges Field House.
