State police briefs 10/30/18

Criminal mischief reported on Richard Avenue

Nicholas Hosfelt, 22, of Chambersburg, and Darlene Ruiz, 21, of Shoemakersville, Pennsylvania, reported damage to the side mirrors of their vehicles that were parked on Richard Avenue between Oct. 20 at 10 p.m. and Oct. 21 at 12:30 p.m.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Trooper Todd Carper from the Pennsylvania State Police in Carlisle at 717-249-2121.

Underage drinking reported on North Queen Street and Richard Avenue

Nicholas C. Engle, 20, was found in possession of three Miller Lite beers while underage on Oct. 20 at approximately 11:30 p.m. at the intersection of North Queen Street and Richard Avenue.

Harassment and public drunkenness reported on North Queen Street

Tyler M. Sowa, 22, was accused of assaulting a 42-year-old male while intoxicated on Oct. 20 at approximately 12:45 p.m. on North Queen Street.

Criminal or simple trespass reported on Bard Drive

Melanie Kent, 21, of Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania, reported that an unknown male entered her residence on Bard Drive on Oct. 20 at approximately 12:15 p.m.

Criminal mischief reported on North Queen Street

Madison Ernst, 19, of Enola, Pennsylvania, reported damage to the rear windshield of her 2012 Chevrolet Cruze parked on North Queen Street on Oct. 21 between midnight and 2:10 a.m.

Ernst noticed the rear windshield of her car was broken, but the actor had fled the scene. The damage is valued at $200.

Disorderly conduct reported on Bard Drive

Kenneth Burgos, 19, of Philadelphia, was creating unreasonable noise after receiving a previous warning from police on Oct. 20 at approximately 3 a.m. in the 300 block of Bard Drive.

Woman charged with disorderly conduct

Sidney Miller, 25, of Columbia, Pennsylvania, was charged with disorderly conduct for using obscene language toward the public on Oct. 13 at approximately 9 a.m. on South Conestoga Drive.

Stop sign stolen on Richard Avenue

A stop sign laying on the ground was stolen by two unidentifiable males on Oct. 20 at approximately 7 p.m. at the corner of High Street and Richard Avenue.

The sign is valued at $150.

Hit-and-run reported on Richard Avenue

Jonathan R. Benner, 19, of Orwigsburg, Pennsylvania, was traveling west on Richard Avenue when a Mazda 3 struck the rear bumper of Benner’s 2006 Dodge Ram 1500 on Oct. 20 at approximately 2:30 a.m. 

Benner slowed for traffic, but the operator of the Mazda failed to stop and fled the scene by continuing to travel west on Richard Avenue.

Benner’s vehicle sustained minor damage to the rear bumper.
